The Wilderness Revisited

October 12, 2013

Last Saturday week
at the county rummage sale
around the Confederate monument on the courthouse lawn

of ankle twisting stones and oak trees
stumbling in blackberry briars to meet a wedge-bottomed
minie ball
with blood and butternut.
